Happy New Years!

Happy New Years!

Well 2018 is here and most of us have celebrated, managed hangovers, put away Christmas or other holiday decorations for another year and even made New Year promises.  For one, I was very blessed to have spent the beginning of the New Year in the canyons of Park City overlooking the barely snow- covered mountains and feeling amazed that I was there with my family watching the fireworks and toasting to what we all hope will be a great new year.  There is nothing better than family and mine (even those that couldn’t be there) are the best!

2018 brings lots of new excitement to my second career encore (if there is such a thing) – though not taking any bows yet and curtains are still open!  So here is the real deal.  I retired from my first career in Human Resources 6 years ago- after more years than I would like to admit and remember – and am now fully immersed in The Tampa Bay Food tour company that provides me with lots of joy, new friends, laughter, great human stories, and yes, even those human resource challenges.  2018 for our new company- Tampabyfoodtours.com – seems will also be a year of firsts!  We specialize in and have distinguished ourselves in providing a “one of a kind experience” for our guests and feel so fortunate to host our first bachelorette party, first bachelor party and our first venture into a neighborhood that has undergone a huge urban revitalization.

This blog admittedly is not about anything really earth shattering.  Not that any blog I have ever read or created really is when you think about it honestly.  But it is a form of communication that keeps me in touch with my inner self and maybe some of you. We have started a new diet here with fewer carbs and more vegetables.  We actually cooked a rack of venison on New Year’s Day – which was pretty incredible – considering the kitchen and utensils we had to work with.  Just 30 minutes per pound for the venison at 350 degrees –add some mashed potatoes, Brussel  Sprouts – sautéed with olive oil, pancetta and garlic and voila!  Nothing better – except maybe pasta!

I promise to keep you posted on our new beginnings for 2018 and hope you continue to follow us and maybe even join us on one of our tours or let us create an amazing adventure for you!
